Finally, an English speaking country! I cannot tell you how happy we were to be back in familiar territory. No more confusing street signs and miscommunications. From here on out, smooth sailing.
In London we felt a little more at home, not only because of the language but also in regards to customs and general social norms. Everything felt simpler.
By the time our first full day in London came to pass, I knew I was sick. I was all sniffles and sore throat, so we tried to take things a little slower than normal. We spent our first day exploring the royal parks and other attractions (Mainly museums. London had great museums). We rented Barclays bikes and rode through the city. It was so nice to be on a bike again! Man, I miss Davis.
On our second day we did a bit more exploring. We saw Harrods, and the London bridge. We also went to see a movie (22 Jump Street, not that great). It was really nice to just sit and relax in a movie theater for the afternoon though. I found it funny that nearly every movie playing in the theater or shown during credits was a Hollywood movie. I always assumed that other countries had their Hollywood equivalent? Apparently I was mistaken.
Hyde Park
The swans were enormous. I tried getting a photo with a small child for size comparison, but it didn't end well.
Entrance to the Science Museum
The mind maps exhibit was really interesting. It made me miss school a bit.
Natural History Museum
For the Roberts clan- we saw so many cool crystals!
It was really common to see large groups of people all over the parks. They looked like they were having so much fun!
First order of business back in Davis- spend more time in parks with friends
We caved and got Chipotle for dinner. So worth it.
Thanks for the beautiful sights London!
